Was hoping this thread would be about console games. Besides EQ, I wasn't really into PC gaming until a few years ago.

Civ 3 was the first Civ game I ever played, but there's absolutely no reason to play it nowadays since Civ 4 was pretty much a direct improvement in nearly every way. And then Civ 5 was a totally different game and the playerbase diverges as to what they prefer (I still play Civ 4 over Civ 5).

Besides Civ 3, my favorite highschool PC game was probably Stronghold. RTS where you have to design, build, and defend a castle? Fuckin' sweet. Too bad Stronghold 2 was so buggy.
Civ is like Star Trek movies. The even numbers are awesome.

Anyone do the advanced dungeons and dragons games? I use to bring the floppy disks to school, and play those instead of Oregon Trail. Fuck that game, and its dysentery!

That old-games.com is the only place I've seen the Tie-Fighter cd rom version. Fully voiced and boss as hell.

Oh God. old-games reminded me of Castle of the Winds, Solar Winds, Sentinel Worlds, the old Might and Magic games, and so many more. Any time I want to remember what it was like to be in elementary or middle school, I just need to fire up those games and it is auto-flashback.
