Quest Issue: shaman epic faction WTF???

I always assumed people faction grinding on p99 was a byproduct of them skipping steps that were intended to be completed. If it's true that you actually are forced to do this here I think that's wrong. I can't imagine Verant designing any of the epic quests so you had to do parts of it multiple times to complete it.

If you do every single step of the epic - ONCE - you should be at max faction.

I can dig up some stuff about this, but I don't recall shamans ever needing to repeat steps simply to raise faction. IF that was the case, I think it would be well documented.

The pending change has nothing to do with the final turn in. All it affected was the lesser spirits, who previously would talk to anyone, now require indifferent or better. Shamans, who were by default apprehensive with no work, will be indifferent at birth.

The spirit sentinel's acceptance of the iksar scale is dependent on absolutely maxed faction. Warmly, albeit the highest, can still be maxed. This is how it is currently written, and what everyone has needed to date. Is that not how it should be?

You should be able to do every step of the quest and then finish with your scale turn in. I did the quest, repeating several steps in order to plug some of the holes in my faction climb I was seeing from having to charm the mobs to advance steps and still got my scale eaten. You also have points in the quest where you can complete the previous step, and then you can't complete the next step. For instance I turned in the black dire pelt, received my boots, then couldn't turn in the book for the next step.

This is how I did it on live (I was too afraid of the consequences of "cheating" to repeat steps), in the Velious era. I "cheated" here on P99 by repeating steps, but if you can't do the turn-in after completing every step once, something is broken.

I did my shaman epic on life. didn't skip any steps, and certainly didn't grind faction. no steps had to be repeated.

This should be fixed after next patch. With the faction changes made, shaman should be at kindly after the boot turn in, allowing for the report to be completed.



To verify everything will be correct, are these the only faction-producing steps in the quest chain for TrueSpirit? If there are any more, will need to know.
