the big issue is the early christians platonized their religion in order to make it philosophically authoritative to thinking. problem is plato doesn't harmonize as nietzsche pointed out by inverting the cave parable in thus spoke zarathustra. traversing through nihilism has done a lot for my sense of being a person in a world that is bigger. or as heidegger put it (a course paraphrase) a being within Being where language (communication in general) houses everything.

sidelle i wasn't bashing you but pointing out that there are fundamentalists everywhere, and they are just the old school hard liners of their faiths. ever read the jefferson bible? he took out all the magic and miracles and left the positive ethics. it's way shorter and makes more sense.

I agree and I apologize to anyone (especially Sid) if I sounded too harsh.

This is one of those few topics that set me off being of what's considered a minority faith in the US, while the mainstream media seems to rarely cover anything other than Muslims being violent or violence against Christians.
