I personally just google, read blogs, wiki, and snopes certain stories. I stopped watching the news due to it being depressing. I instead like a lot of news pages in my social media avenues like FB and Twitter. So I can keep up to date at my leisure and not unexpectedly get hit with unwanted feels.
