Default well...

I look at it like this.

Project 1999 was always on a limited timeline and most everyone understands this. What puzzles me is why anyone is surprised.

On most live servers, including my home of Fennin Ro, there was typically 1 or two guilds that dominated raid content. These guilds were always rumored, whether true or not, to be favored by GM's. Not sure why anyone thinks this, or any well populated private server, or the upcoming Everquest Classic will be any different.

On most live servers, while new players did trickle in, the majority of the population was a static group of people who ended up with at least one max level character, leveling twinks in their spare time. Not sure why anyone thinks this, or any well populated private server, or the upcoming Everquest Classic will be any different.

Play it until its no longer fun, just like you did before. Quit when you want to. Just realize, as a smart person noted in this thread, these sort of ventures are pretty rare. EQ:Classic will come out....and people will play it. Some will leave P1999 for this server, others will remain. A couple guilds will dominate that server, too. There will be rumors abound of GM favoritism. Population will stabalize much quicker than on Live in 1999...people will play til theyre bored...and "so it goes" as K.V. would say. The fact remains that as the years go on it will be harder and harder to populate a classic EQ server.

Recreate the memories, while you can.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. The server opened less than a year ago with a max of about 250-300 people on. Like, primetime. We were shitting our pants when it hit 300.

Now, prime time is 900+, less than a year later. Kunark's going to bring more (and old players). Velious will bring more. And even if after Velious they blow up the server and start over... there's going to be tons of people trying to be the biggest and best (for that first week, anyways)

If you build it, they shall play.

i was end game raider from 2000 till 2007, in top guilds, doing content in the expansion they were released, not 3 expansions later like most... ive done it all seen it all.

i still enjoy doing the raid content on P99, im not trying to relive my experiences or anything, im just enjoying a game with some mates as theres nothing better at the moment and i need a break from dota every now and then.

obviously the current content is pretty limited, but meh still enjoyable, guess thats cause im part of 1 of the 2 guilds getting bosses [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

but seriously, if you dont like it, why you play ? no one actually gives a shit about what you think. leave if you dont enjoy it... i know i wouldnt keep playing a game i didnt enjoy.

Gonna have to agree with that. As the years go on, more and more people are going to want to play something that isn't full of uber d00dz who got their Fairy Knight to level 150 in a weekend. Splitting the server is something that will have to happen eventually...it has even been hinted by the devs multiple times.

Anyway, I know I'll always come back from time to time to relive the good times. The QQers will all come back...unfortunately they always come back. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Dont recall any GM favourism generally because GM dont play on the server they are looking after. That aside, TMO sucks nutz

When have the GMs ever hinted at the server being split?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. What I meant was simply that, if you played in the two guilds who dominated during my particular hayday on Fennin Ro (Order of Redemption/Defenders of Akanon and The Mystical Order), you were going to have an easier than normal upill battle of getting service from the GM staff. While they may not have "played eq," many people felt they "played favorites."

Thats all Im saying. On most servers, emu or not, this is the case...or at least the suspicion among the general populace.
