ill agree its a bit scary, the constant griefing, bullying and people shitting on eachother in an elf world that people should be coming to with intentions of relaxation and fun is mindboggling

but it is what they make it, lots of cleanup is needed. But the point being is theres no reason to level if theres no light at the end of the tunnel. Raid gear was always the reward for leveling past 50, bosses

i had little problem getting my paladin to level 49 solo and unguilded. but once i started getting in PVP range of the level 55+s that just roam around ganking neutral soloers that are actively engaged in PVE fights.... yeah i just don't have time to deal with that bullshit.

it maybe would have been different if i was a caster, but all the worthwhile dungeons at 49+ are a long way from the places where a paladin can bind. as it stood, i was spending half of my play sessions just doing corpse runs.

i've griped about this before, and i was told "learn to PVP"... but no amount of PVP skill is gonna save me when i'm at 40% health with a mob beating on me and i get jumped by someone 8 levels higher than me.

I have never ever done this to anyone and I never would. Being a faggot is #1 reason red failed, and imagine an entire guild willing to do anything it takes to limit another guilds progression so they can own boss mobs and sell the loot

and staff let em do it ! Mindboggling

and rogean puts a big post about how this is supposed to be a classic server, fun for everyone

yet he lets people treat it like a job, and the only thing that can hinder them, AKA Variance, he wont put in

Why would Rogean want raid guilds to focus on raid content instead of giving grief to level 52s? Plus, level 49 is a dream compared to 52. And that guy quit before Nihilum stepped up their grief efforts.

Raid content can be monopolized in 8-10 hrs atm, so the other 160 hrs in the week are used to get players to quit R99.

does Nihilum even really do that? i thought that when everyone started crying for variance, Nihilum left raid mobs up for days at a time just to make a point. and no one came to kill 'em.

most of the grief i got was from so called "resistance guilds." the one time i ever had PVP with a Nihilum member i was the one that challenged him. and it started by me saying "hey, wanna go?"... not just jumping him while he was in the middle of a PVE fight (which is what the majority of the "PVPers" on the server seem to do)

i was unguilded. if those resistance guilds were smart, they would have tried recruiting me instead of just attacking me when they knew they'd be able to get some easy YT.

i didn't play EQ PVP "back in the day," but i've heard that on RZ / TZ / VZ it was considered pretty lame to jump someone who was in the middle of a fighting an EXP mob. that seems to be the only time most of red will engage PVP, though.

even the one night i raided Plane of Fear with Red Dawn... Azrael waited to attack until RD had a bad pull. so fucking lame.

yes, but if you dont stand there like a gentlemen and a scholar and politely ask for a duel, your considered interfering, there is no middle ground or fun zone for them, its srs business only.

also, they do have their people who will grief, u just didnt run into them, most of their members wear other guild tags when they are griefing also
