I am under no illusions that TMO's public image is anything other than that of a spoiled child. Frankly, we deserve whatever image we have that comes from the rampant forum questing of our members that play solely to ruin other people's good time. The actions and motivations of those members are incredibly childish, and because the rest of the membership has apathetically allowed them to present that image we deserve our current reputation due to our inaction.

I am talking to TMO just as much as I am talking to anyone else. Perhaps even more so. TMO is certainly responsible for its image, but it does not operate alone. We all see the daily back and forth, and I even let myself get drawn into it on a basis that is more regular than I would like. I want to see a server that just wanted to raid competitively without dominating every single spawn. I want to play on a server where the guilds don't want to murder each other with fire. I recognize and freely admit that TMO has done more than its fair share of contributing to the current situation.

However, any solution will take more than TMO. I don't expect things to honestly change. I really don't. But, I am excited at the prospect, and if we want to do something we need to clean our own house first. Respect is a two way street. Currently neither side is on that road, and I recognize that TMO is in a position to take the first step. I just hope that first step is not in vain.
Also if I remember correctly the mass IB banning was as big/bigger than this.

There have been plenty of guilds on this server for years who didn't stoop to shitty behavior. The result? They rarely got any mobs. Their behavior was never magically reciprocated. Don't try to deflect. This is almost all on TMO.

I agree. Too little, too late.

If respect is a two way road, you'd have respected the guilds not named IB/FE and not shit on their attempts at raiding.

BDA threads every week about them wiping. Of course they wipe when they have to rush when you are breathing down their necks while they just want to kill a fucking mob.

All the silly times in fear with Taken and you guys fucking around with trains in hate.

Respect? Respect means deguilding and hoping people still like you as a person. That's the best that can be done with this situation.

I am going to direct this to you, Xasten, because I actually respect you somewhat. Whatever good, reasonable people are in TMO have ALWAYS had the option to deguild and refuse to be associated with the above-mentioned members. Yet, they don't, because pixels... and now... here you are. The good, innocent players of TMO who turned the other cheek for far too long and let the d-bags drag their image down, run other guilds through the dirt, chase other guilds off the server after posting RL pics on RNF, etc, etc, etc... find yourselves once again paying the price for your guild's collective reputation. How much is it going to take before your words typed out on a forum become real action and change for the better?

If you don't believe you can make a difference within your leadership, then stop supporting them with your continued membership. Otherwise all this is .... is lip service.

I stay because I have not yet arrived at the conclusions that I should leave; I do believe that I can make a difference with the leadership. I've done so to some small degree. For example, the Ragefire rotation that was going to be jumped in favor of Jaed was instead respected specifically because Elethia and I issued an ultimatum that we would leave otherwise. I agree with you that my words would have a lot more impact publicly if I deguilded, but my continued membership does not make my words valueless. I don't stay for the pixels (The last loot I got was 2 years ago). I stay for the friends that I have made and because I have real hope that the organization can always better how it interacts with the community.

People like Thrump, Zagum, Portsche, Canker, Elethia, Dolic, Kingore, and many others are excellent people and I value the time I spend with them. We all make TMO a fun place to be, and we do it in a way that makes the guild better. I don't want to sit here to try and act like TMO Jesus. I just want us to behave reasonably. I've seen that happen, and I think it can happen again.

I know that I've accomplished very little, but I have accomplished something in my time here. That is what keeps me going.
