Oh wait, that's almost the same thing as paying for a MQ. Like I understand where you're coming from in the sense that you don't think people should be selling epics for 500K, but there are too many circumstances like the one that would just be obnoxious if not everyone could just do the quests themselves as opposed to class only. The classic game was made the way it was; we all have to deal with the limitations and problems it brings. That's why we are playing Classic EverQuest. If you really wanted to do this content without the hindrance of classic mechanics and an overpopulated server, just make a guild on Live that follows "classic rules" and will not use any items or conveniences that are beyond the scope of Velious. You'd never have any problem with people getting in the way of the mobs you want/need.

OK. What the fuck is an MQ and what is MQing? Sounds like everyone is complaning that people are selling epics? I thought epic weapons were no trade. I don't understand this game.

Example - Kizzy Mintop in the halfling town wants 30 gold pieces and 3 honeycombs and then she'll give you a Honey Jum. Extreme Noob Enchanter A turns in 3 honeycombs and 3 plat, which fails the quest. Burning with shame, they walk off because they think it's broken. Canny Pro Enchanter B walks up to Kizzy and hands in just 30 gold first, and gets the Honey Jum. The quest was "primed" by the first turn in, with the honeycombs held in limbo until the proper 30 gold pieces is given to her.

Thanks for the explanation! I had no idea you could turn things in piecemeal like that. So basically people meet up at an NPC, and someone pays someone else to hand in half of the quest junk?

With only a couple quests being MQable in classic, MQing here isn't classic.
Each quest that is MQable on P99 has been made to be intentionally and deliberately.(nilbog has to code the ability for each quest) The robe of the lost circle isn't MQable and it should be, along with a shitload more quests. If anything, there needs to be more quests made to be MQable. Being able to MQ isn't the problem, its people farming this shit to sell that is a problem. There is nothing wrong with a guild selling epic pieces from raid mobs, since they are killing, for example, Venril Sathir for different reasons. Those who sell Demon Fang loot rights are the definition of the problem, although it isn't affecting anyone much. The above is a hypocritical statement when it comes to Ragefire and has and always will be a problem epic. If any change were to come from epic drops/farmage, I wish there could be a way to spawn these raid mobs that solely drop epic pieces, like venril sathir with a part of the epic quest chains. Due to classic propaganda, this will never be done since we have to work off of sony's short-sighted implementations, deal with it.

I read the OP as "I farmed all the plat I need from selling epic MQ, so would like this option stripped from others"
Kind of like the account sales thing.
