Red is just more fun guys! At least it is if you have a guild. I suggest joining Serenity. No one actually bind camps you either.

Not to mention the inflation isn't ridiculous.
Potentially you could farm FS swords over there still to buy what you need, whereas blue you gotta be hustling accounts, getting involved in Jboot racketeering, duping, RMTs and powerlevelling people to truly have "wealth".

So on red, do people kill each other for the fuck of killing each other, or are people usually cool and pvp when they start getting uppity with each other?

Depends on the person. If you're power leveling, you just go in to wreck the other guy/anyone not in your crew. I felt so bad one time after I killed a guy, Barrack, after he ran into split paw while I was PLing someone, and without word spoken he started trying to solo a dog. I had hidden, and my friend (lowbie) had been watching him. He said Barrack was charming the mob but that was wrong just an assumption of his I guess. Charming a mob is an aggressive act - or could be - especially after running in through the zone without saying a word. Then my friend says the guy was at half health. As I finished meming Starfire, I see the guy running for the exit. Exploded him single cast. Splat! Then I moved in to see the rooted dog at half health he was trying to nuke down. Just felt so bad, because I realized after a moment, that only a true blueb would zone in and try and do something like that. I went to give him a tell only moments later, but he had already logged off... griefed off the server (at least for that night.. haven't seen him since but haven't checked)...
Anyway. It's mostly shoot first, ask questions later. I highly encourage anyone new SPEAK to ppl. Talk to thm and ask to group or state your intentions before just doing shit, or before you assume the other guy will just try and murder you. Ask someone if they want to group up etc. You might make a friend if you actually talk to ppl. And almost any red will try and help you out if he knows you're legit new to the server and not just another nihilum alt. In general, ppl usually prefer to group and get exp instead of PvP. But you have to be clear about your intention to group with them, or at least not bother them. Once in a blue moon you'll come across a Chewie or Kimm, who will kill you regardless, but that is rare. O and also watch out for the random twink or two parked in unrest for griefing purposes. Some bros got level 22 rogues with epics and fungis there for the purposes of "cleansing" the area.

Losing xp in pvp rather than possibly losing a hard earned item...was the stupidest idea ever. I was off the server in 3 days and won't be back.

I realize that, and knew someone would bring it up, not realizing what I was really pointing out. If you played on Rallos, you realized quickly that unless your twink gear was no drop and/or you roved around in gangs like, say, the guild Darkenbane on live, you'd better not be wearing all that godly gear in pvp (or else learn to bag quickly), thus leveling the playing field pretty considerably. You even had to be careful while using a Wurmslayer as they could be disarmed to the ground (unless you had an open slot or a big enough bag--saw it happen once on live).
When Red went live on p99, it didn't take long to realize what "having no fear of losing your uber items in pvp" was going to do to the server for both casuals and people who started late. They just had no chance. At all.
