Can u please explain how it would be very bad for the server, and is that a definite no?
Lack of population. Play styles most likely excuses for item loot not working.

The solution for RED is simply that the community needs to find ways of bringing new players to this server that doesn't further penalise a player on pvp death. From what I can see the new players aren't quitting because of Nihilum getting VP loot. Find out why new players aren't hanging on and help rectify that issue, because without a server population item loot wont do anything but penalise new players who are already being farmed.
I think one of the reasons was that those potential people were here, but we lost em at launch.

There must not be a vast pool of people wanting to play an emulated version of EQ1. We had 600 or so when the server launched.

It had some problems, like xp loss in pvp encouraging the griefing of casuals off the server by larger, more experienced at the game crews and discouraging people from entering places like Guk when there was 15 holocaust inside ready to xp loss you and camp your corpse.

You also had guards not assisting which im sure some of the people who explicitely stated they got their kicks out of seeing the population drop enjoyed taking advantage of.

We might get some of these people back by a brand new server, wether a wipe or a 3rd server, but i dont think its going to happen.

We might also destroy whats left of the population, its a risky gamble. Once and if the server drops to ~30 average, i dont see the harm in trying but again, dont think it will happen.

I dont even play here anymore, what discouraged me the most is that i will never know what a Rallos-like server would have looked like, because thats not what red99 was. It was a purple server for a long time.

PVEers got access to stuff they would not have been able to would xp loss in pvp have been out from the start, devs took way too much time in fixing the situation (RL might have interfered, whatever), which i think caused the first huge 600 to 200ish dip, then the 30pop period. Nobody on Rallos could sit on a zone like Guk or crushbone unchallenged for days, it was like night and day, Red99 compared to Rallos. It just fostered the formation of zergs and the bleeding out of small, more casual but still potential long term players from the server. It also made an EQ server that was heavily focused on PVE, unlike Rallos which in my opinion and experience, made it alot more boring if PVP is what you liked, which i like to think is why you want to play on a pvp server in the first place.

Then server never really recovered from that february-ish 2013 population dip when they nerfed xp. I was waiting to see if maybe numbers would pick up but it doesnt go up past 125 often when i check so i kinda lost interest.

I wish pop would pick up to like 250-300 then i might get interested again, because i think thats just the best well get. Maybe when velious comes out.
