I had a dream that I was invading the homeworld of the Frogloks.
My dropship dumped me in one of their central forest marshes, much like the Swamp of No Hope except a bit more arboreal, yet still swampy.
I scouted out the froglok villages sneaking into their huts and taking note of their habits. Yet when it came time to attack I did nothing, I had fallen in love with the little green froakers. I couldn't bring myself to destroy their villages, I wanted to be a FROGLOK.
The infantry teams landed and destroyed them all anyway... I remember stepping on a hidden froglok in the muck scrambling through the wreckage of one of their dwellings. He let out a pitiful froak in fright and I did not slay him. I let him live. I felt pity for the poor creature. His froak was mournful and sad and angry all at the same time. It was a hate filled froak, yet he was a pacifistic forager, he would never retaliate for what we had done.
Later on I was forced to fortify and build a new position creating a bridge from a less fortified base to a more impenetrable fortress. Roads appeared in the marsh and concrete replaced the primitive dwellings of the frog folk. This planet of frogs was doomed.
Yes I really dreamed that. It wasn't in EQ pixelation, it was full on semi-lucid realistic. I even heard the sounds of the forest and the poor little froaks just as I described them.
