When FE first appeared last fall, I was discussing potential outcomes with several of my friends on the server. What we came to collectively agree is that there has to be a winner and a loser in these massive manpower clashes. Simply put, whichever guild does not acquire the majority of loot will atrophy and be unable to compete.

In this particular instance, I knew a little bit about Shinko and Sloan before they formed this guild. Their inclination to repeatedly award loot to themselves and their inner circle made the situation even more difficult for FE. Complaints from disillusioned FE members made it clear that this was definitely the case. In contrast, TMO's inner circle is already well-geared, so much of the newly acquired gear passes to other members. Even relatively recent recruits are quickly rewarded for their efforts. FE's only chance seemed to lie in the possibility of a large number of TMO losing interest and leaving the server.

As we've seen, this didn't happen. The writing is obviously on the wall for FE. It's been interesting for me as an insider to see these dynamics play out. I am honestly surprised that the competition lasted as long as it did when I consider the fact that TMO has been able to monopolize all of the top raid zone while roughly splitting the other sought-after kills--this gives TMO somewhere between two and three times the loot (read:motivational rewards) available to FE.

The basic tenet of FE, hating TMO, was surprisingly effective in getting started with recruiting. I think everyone who joined FE expected a hard fight with TMO, but I suspect they also excepted a chance for raid loot along the way. Unfortunately for FE, the greed of their inner circle quickly alienated those recruits. From my short time in BDA, this same error is also what I saw cripple their efforts to compete with TMO.

It will interesting to see if another rival appears to compete with TMO, and whether that leadership team will learn from the mistakes of FE and BDA.

I'm thankful that switching sides didn't make you seem like less of an asshole. FE burnt out. BDA never tried.

Shinko's veiled RL threats about my family set the mood, but the turn out of 8 FE really stole the show.

I didn't really have a long relationship with Forceful Entry. It started with lulz at the start and ended with lulz.

To be honest, when it came to Veeshan's Peak harassment, we received more from BDA than we did from FE. Tangoing with FE in VP was like wiping the floor with IB before they merged into VD in a very shameful admittance of defeat.


However, the amount of training, douchebaggery, and general idiocy perpetrated by Forceful Entry was on par with what we dealt with from Inglorious Basterds, who famously RMT'd all their shit and then posted the PayPal logs. I hear they're back now, leveling up- they need more "server firsts" to validate them IRL. I don't get why they think that means anything.


It is with somber tone that I acknowledge that any IB still left in FE will be summarily leaving FE to join their partners in crime for the upcoming expansion. I for one will miss our ignorant and overconfident competition, as our new competition will be even more ignorant and overconfident.

Forceful Entry; you fought well, though I'm sorry- you never had a real chance.

I don't deny that I can be a total ass on RnF, but I don't see what's obnoxious about this particular post. FE burned out because they weren't getting rewarded for time invested. You can't say that BDA never tried. I quit the guild because of the poopsocking.

I'm mainly pissed about the officer greed / officer favoritism commentary. That never happened in FE. At least no where near the same level as it did in BDA, and that has nothing to do with the guild dying off. FE used a DKP bid system. If the the officers got more loot, it's because they were the most active members. Shinko was the #1 raider during 90% of my time in the guild. If he got a lot of stuff, that's only because he deserved it. I had 450 DKP vs his 1200 once. Guess who won the Dragon Hero bracer off Fay? #40 Cecily. Mind games w/ DKP are how I got my stuff. It was fair.

If you want talk about FE burning out because of mob deprivation, then we're on the same page. If you wanna talk about months worth of wasted man hours in VP, that probably did the most damage. As far as BDA goes, they poopsocked during family friendly hours. It sucked, it was a waste of a night, and it was a good reason for you to leave. If Trak didnt pop 7-10pm, we weren't doing it. That's not trying to me.

Don't compare the guilds. That's a disservice to FE.
