what is the hardest race/class combo for a new player with no guild/friends on R99

The problem with Paladins is their DPS is incredibly terrible, combined with the hybrid penalty..

I once was running through Lesser Faydark on my Level 31 Erudite Paladin in full bronze and a Ghoulbane and a shadow man aggrod me (light blue con). I had full HP and full mana with Lay on Hands up, so I figured I could solo it.

I died, even having used Lay on Hands.

Shadow men are beasts for their level though. Hard to go by them. Any warrior would have had a tough time as well.

This. Weak dps combined with horrendous hp/str and very few offensive spells, my vote is still erudite paladin.

Ive already got one at 24. I'll duel any level 24 non-twink erudite pally! Self buffs only (lmfao).

Ogre SK. Or troll maybe, but trolls get regen so they can solo better. Ogre Sk = 61% penalty. Troll Sk = 68%. As a hybrid with such a high penalty, no one wants to group you, especially if they don't know you. They much rather solo their exp or group with a warrior, who has 0% exp penalty.

Only thing to do is fear kite with a shitty weapon for days on end in a zone no one traffics, hoping a druid doesnt come across you on his journey to quadville and decide to finally explode your face after he runs circles around you because he has SoW + lev, and you don't.

bet you anything if a warrior and an SK started server and invested same amount of time, the one hitting 60 first would be the warrior

i have friends here and guess what, my warrior is stuck in highkeep at 25 because there were never any healers on to sustain a group. maybe bad luck, maybe not either way it was hard for me, i imagine a new player would have even more problems. oh i was twinked too but downtime on a warrior in between mobs is the most painful thing ive ever experienced. you have to really get lucky and find a dedicated healer to carry your ass to the 50s. with all the solo priests its hard out there for new melees. unless you got blue plat to twink yourself or buy power leveling, prob not going to make it.
