For example my people were sold as slaves by Jewish slave traders as far back as the 10th century but it was cautioned that while we were hard workers we were not fit to work in the heat, being from the north and all. I didn't know all this but as I am a keen student of social trends I noticed somewhere around two decades ago it became very fashionable to argue from oppression. Your argument could only be valid if you were in a position to speak your truth from your lived experience and those had better contain lots of really horrible things that happened to you or your people.
