let me rephrase that... i have tried to launch multiple clients before i log in, if i do this, the original freezes... i know it isn't a hardware issue.. i am looking for an alternative to what has originally been suggested
try bypassing eqw.exe. just like P99; create a shortcut for eqgame.exe and in the properties window add patchme to the target. remember to run as admin.

It will only let me run 2 luclin character models? How do I unlock all of them. It says I can't handle that many models, which is bs.
Aroith, meet eqclient.ini he will be your new best friend.

You can always copy the files to another directory and run two different clients. Less chance of conflicts that way and with a fast modern hard drive space and speed aren't an issue.

hell that being said, might as well have the second install on a second computer. even the the fugliest of today's craptops can run one box of eq with little trouble and we all have one (or know someone who has one) just collecting dust in a closet somewhere. connect that clunker to your neighbors unsecured wireless network and you have a whole new wealth of possibilites.

Oh its easy enough to run on 2 comps. Back in the old voodoo gfx days that was the only way to do it. I personally prefer alt-tab and one mouse and keyboard though. Less Electromagnetic radiation attacking your scrotum.

Mouselook problem fixed. Now I can really get into this time waster all over again!

Neat little program, like fraps but has a software FPS limiter built in. Fraps only does it while recording, this one will do it anytime. Limit FPS to 30 and everything is smooth. My vid card doesn't have an easy option for doing it unfortunately.

Kasperky anitvirus keeps wanting to delete wsock32.dll saying it is a virus. Is kasp just tripping or is it safe?

Default Getting in?

Error opening packed file system? With characters?

Also, what am I to use as a launch into the login? eqw.exe, eqgame.exe, etc?

Edit: Bwills, Vipre also didn't appreciate the wsock32.dll. I wasn't sure what it was either.

Here is a post from the FOH board:

NOTE: WSOCK32.dll is a fake winsock program. If you require its source I can post it here but any disassembler can open it and you can clearly see it is a DLL loader for eqgame.dll and a proxy for WSOCK32.dll, if it flags as a virus then that's because it's named after a system file. This is just an order of operations issue in Windows that I exploit to load the actual code to EQGame.exe and it is not a virus.
From what I can see my virus suite likes to delete WSOCK32.DLL from the EQMac folder. When this happens I can't get to the login screen. I can get to server select but when I go to login I just get "You have been disconnected" right before the world loads.

Just turn off the virus scanner, copy the wsock32.dll from secrets patch back into eqmac, and the game loads fine. It doesn't seem malicious, but you never know. Not sure someone would go through this much trouble to make something work just to install a trojan that 20 or 30 people might try out.

You need to execute eqw.exe. You also need to have all relevant files created in c:\eqmac. There are some files that are hard coded to look for that directory, at least one I found eqw.cfg.

Here is what I did.

1. completely disable virus check
2. fresh install of titanium
3. copy titanium files to c:\eqmac
4. copy the resources folder from the eqmac SOE site directly on top of c:\eqmac using copy/replace
5. unzip secrets patch directly into c:\eqmac
6. open eqconfig.ini change newui=TRUE. Default is set to false and causes problems
7. start up dxtory and limit video fps to 60
8. launch eqw.exe, right-click run as administrator
9. check the popup box to fixeqclient.ini - you might get an error the first time
10. connect, log in with a valid station account, select the first al'kabor server, profit

If you get to the server select and get disconnected on loading in check to make sure wsock.dll is still in your eqmac folder. Mine is constantly getting removed.
