Catholics are on board but it's really being led by people who want to profit from K-12 education like they are currently profiting from university. And they don't want to compete with public schools. If you can convince gullible idiot Republicans (not hard) that their kids are being brainwashed by liberal teachers in public schools, you can get them on board with destroying public education and then sending kids to shitty for-profit bible schools using government money.
