It's not how Americans think but rather the shift in what Israelis think in response to what happened to Israel on Oct 7.

I was making the comparison because people, including myself, have said that Oct 7 was Israel's 9/11. I'm saying Oct 7th is actually 16x worse than 9/11 on a per capita basis.
Now do the math for the Palestinian side. How many 9/11s are happening daily in Gaza?

None because 9/11 and 10/7 were done by Arabs.

Americans don't get the scale of the attack as it hasn't been presented on a map to show what'd it look like.

In Pearl Harbor about 2400 people died.

We haven't faced the scale of war on our own soil that Israel just faced since the Civil War.

That's what I'm saying.

I think it's ugly to measure human suffering on a per capita basis.

But let's drop it and continue otherwise.

You have to if you want to understand the shift in understanding that occurred in the population of Israelis to be mostly onboard with being at war with Hamas.

If you asked on October 5th if Israel would be at war this year, 85% of Israelis would laugh at that.

So it matters as an American to know the scale of attack our ally faced, whether you like the math or not. Math is there to inform us not equivocate morality.

Like I said, some human lives are more equal than others.

Channel 4 who also simps for Palestine (“simp” is me putting it sarcastically, they do it morally and reasonably) was interviewing some IDF official and they said “would you consider the mother or father of a Hamas soldier a valid target?”

And the IDF official said something to the effect of “we have a recording of a Hamas soldier calling his parents and saying how he just killed a Jew woman and they congratulated him and said ‘kill more’”

And the Channel 4 interviewer just stared without a reaction (maybe he didn’t believe it, lies in war and all that) “would you consider those parents a valid target?”

And she dodged the question but I forgot what she said

I thought about it for a minute. Let’s see, people that want to kill me. Parents who would literally shoot me or blow me up without a second thought if given the means. And I’m supposed to feel bad if those particular 2 parents were made a target? I dunno, maybe it’s the psycho in me, but I really couldn’t see myself feeling bad about those 2 people ending up a target if I were an Israeli

What if fringe extreme far lefties from around the world 'traded places' with each Gazan for say 10 years or longer if they and the individual Gazan decided to extend it. There are more than 2.2 million fringe extreme far lefties. Almost all of them have better qualities of life than Gazans. It'd be the humane thing to do.

The Gazans would have new homes all over the world in communities that previously supported the far lefties. They'd be welcome and have new and better opportunities than where they currently live. And the far lefties can all coalesce in Gaza and create whatever heavenly on Earth utopia they desire. They can even continue to support Hamas still as their Govt since it appears they are onboard with their activities.

Thoughts?

If that argument convinces anyone then that was an accident. More for laughs since it's
