Closest for me was being on an all liquid diet for months in prep to make weight for nationals for tae kwon do. And I’d do it. Can’t now. Can’t even intermittent fast, even though I know it’s efficacy. I mean maybe in the future I will, but it’s been tough to mentally commit

Anyway, I’d go to the doctor for a checkup and I’d hear him tell my folks that if my bodyfat goes down another percent he’s required to notify CPS

Back then I’m assuming my stomach shrank and I just stopped noticing it, is how I could do it

How do you do fellow disciplinarian? I got some anorexia shade too as a kid although I never have really quite been that way. I think when I was a kid I restricted calories mostly because I enjoyed the altered state fasting put me in. It wasn't really related to body image at that time.

There has been a few anorexics who became fitness models. The mindset of an anorexic person is very conducive to fitness. Not only the micromanagement of food but also the willingness and mental ability to make the body suffer, sometimes intensely. But clinical treatment still helpful because there is a form of exercise-based anorexia too

To a lesser degree I think gamers translate well to fitness success. Mostly due to the hypercritical nature (which in gaming they attribute to their character), obsessiveness towards their chosen hobby, and micromanagement skill developed (willingness to track things and do research to succeed at hobby)
