No, you could have simply looted it.

Remind me to charm a random skeleton, equip it with a cracked staff... then put air elemental illusion (or DMF) on and run around above LCY/RCY as the masses all try to tag it.

I rolled my first toon on this server on February 28th, not knowing anyone and expecting to pretty much be naked until 50. But the community has been very cool overall. Not only have PUGs gone out of their way for newbs like me, I've had people inspect me in group and give me random gear on top of the items I've been able to snag NBG.

And now a few months into the game, I'm level 51 rolling with a static guild group of awesome people and it's NBG to the extreme. If someone's uncle's guildy's counsin's alt needs something we drop and no one in group needs it, then it's theirs. We only roll on something after exhausting all "need" options.

But as far as PUGs go, I think the only realistic expectation is that your XP bar will move, and sometimes that's even a stretch. Of course there's nothing stopping you from saying "hey guys, if XYZ drops, can we NBG on it?" and base your actions accordingly. As my old mentor used to say, you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate for.

So my advice would be to make friends and go camp stuff with people who have the same philosophy as you. And while you're looking to make those friends, relax, take a deep breath and don't focus so much on the pixels. It's the journey that's important IMHO.

I ninja loot in every situation i come across, even if i don't need it. Only because prevoking the staff and seeing if i can get away with it is the fun part of this game.

sometimes u win, sometimes you don't. it's pretty fun.

This thread was an A+ read, Taysh, your long book posts were a pleasure to read through.

You are excellent at articulating your feelings and needs.

I agree with you 100%

Unfortunately I was born with a T-Staff so I can't sympathize with you. Wish I could give mine to you for free.

But I understand how this arbitrary system of greed justified by a wall street gamblers mentality makes people feel empowered and better or more deserving then others.

Giving you lots of love and overwhelming support in my dreams.

Tstaff has a very distinct graphic.

Swing and a miss (or was that a swish?).

Does nobody else think the real problem is how much emotion the OP is going through here?

I've MMO'd a long time, but I've never "tossed and turned" or went from outright joy to outright depression.

Dude, bro, friend - Collect pokemon cards or something. Step back and evaluate those priorities of yours.
