The democrat prosecutor in Missouri can always be fired; but it appeared to me that it was fair; and the evidence / investigation will be open for all to see. I'd rather have a jury do it than give an ambitious prosecutor full discretion. I am not sure what other methods are available ... because I don't think we want a situation where the state can just start charging people out of suspicion; such that they can then execute police power to seize and hold them, take their money, and otherwise turn their lives upside down. On the face of it, it seems amazing that an armed policeman would fear for his life. But it also seems rediculous that Brown would steal some hot swisher sweets, mug someone, then walk in the middle of the street, ignore the cop ordering him to the side of the road, then attempt to grab his gun from within his car (the physical evidence is damning).... the only real dispute seemed to be what happened when stopped at the corner... whether he turned around, charged him, held his hands up, etc. If he held up his hands and said don't shoot... then what the officer did was murder. He should go to jail; although I wouldn't feel that sorry for Brown to be honest. And I would not feel sorry for his parents, who raised a pathetic son who was not prepared to live in our civilized society. That said, it seems that the jury did not find the foregoing credible; and that the credible evidence suggested that he charged at the cop, stopped briefly once he was shot at, and then charged at him again. I don't know all the evidence; but the 9-12 people that did came to that conclusion it seems. If the prosecution distorted evidence and advocated, then there is recourse for that. The file will be open. Also, the browns can get their wergeld by filing a complaint for wrongful death. That was the old way of doing things... and we still have that available. Dolic | |||
