Beto sank himself through some stupid desperation comments(Guy went way too far for my tastes and most Texas center/center-left in general), but it's still just a matter of time. Austin-San Antonio-Dallas(not FW)-Houston-El Paso is really all that is needed to flip the state given another 5-10 years of immigration and education. Small town Texas is currently withering on the vine.

I've been to/through the majority of towns over 2k or so people in this state at this point thanks to my work and it's just sad what's happening as these places collapse in on themselves. Meanwhile the major cities are undergoing major population booms that are overwhelmingly Dem favored and the valley is growing with a vastly hispanic majority. Not hard to see where it goes from here. It's funny because Hispanics are imo a natural voter base for conservative ideals, but the Reps just won't stop poking them in the eye.

I think the GOP could buy themselves some time in Texas by legalizing at least medicinal pot here, getting rid of the real loonies like Paxton etc and not bending the knee to the Evangelical puritan lobby that has them by the stones, but they won't. So when the dam breaks, it's gonna be a flood.

if white people werent splitting their vote down the middle they could last longer but they dont so yeah either 2024 or 2028 is GOP doomsday

remember every single democractic candidate said during the debate they were for the decriminalization of people entering the country with no paperwork

were only going to get more hispanic (and by consequence democrat), not less

I think you'd be surprised at how many hispanic's vote Trump. Some of the most republican people I've met were either black or hispanic.

I'd counter with liberal policies have ruined Texas and most people realize that. I'm from Austin. I'm sure you've heard that we now allow the homeless to set up camp under the bridges here. They are lined with drugs, tents, trash and there was a murder at the camp last weekend near the highway down the road. People complain about it every day at work and even people from the left are contemplating voting right just to clean it up.

There are a ton of gun owners in Texas. Behind IL for NCIS checks, Texas is number 2. Texas is really number 1 because in IL you must apply for a NCIS check every time you are stopped by the police and a carry holder. When you openly have people advocating for bans on weapons when 5% of the state has concealed licenses, that's not including people who never apply for CHL (probably 30-40%). Take that and the recent video from the hispanic sheriff in El Paso telling people Beto and the likes are dumbasses.

Democrats need a worthy candidate first. Hillary was atleast able to prime herself for the position and the DNC went all in. They aren't going all in on someone this year and every democrat is so split due to the identity politics, it will scare off voters who are always Gabbard, always Beto, always Bernie, always Biden, always Warren and so on and so on.

Tulsi Gabbard is polling at less than one percent despite her solid conservative media support.

only 23% of hispanics voted R in the last election, not much to get excited about there bud

and blacks clock in at an even more laughable 9%

AND THAT WAS WITH THE GOD AWFUL CANDIDATE THAT WAS HILLARY CLINTON WHO FORMERLY LABELED ETHNIC CONVICTS "SUPER PREDATORS" AS A PROSECUTER

this is why civic nationalism is utopian thinking and a joke [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
