This is the message I'm getting. I updated the spell files again, and still no dice. Thanks!
Well I can't really think of anything except for the spells files. Have you compared the files in your installation folder with the files from the zip-file to make sure all the files has actually been updated?
Check the sizes and dates for the following files at least:
spells_us.txt
spellsnew.edd
spellsnew.eff

If those check out I would start a new thread with this subject if I were you.

Good luck!

Just got it to work using xertec's installer file + the newly updated v36 files. I just deleted everything and started again from scratch..? I wish i knew more to help. I'm running on both a mid 2012 retina macbook pro, and a late 2009 iMac running on yosemite.

terribly sorry, my mistake. I used oskurot's wineskin package and installed through that. the xertec's installer never worked for me.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yli6kmdj3...t1999.zip?dl=0

download that, show package contents, open wineskin and follow the instructions as normal (i.e. install EQ into that wineskin directory), update the v36 files, and it should work?

same shit unfortunately - even using a completely different source for my EQ installation and a separate wineskin wrapper. I get an error "Error in your GUI files. check UIerrors.txt"

so UIerrors.txt says

UIErrorLog created at Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Warning: file EQLSUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\default\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Couldn't open or read UIFiles\default\EQLSUI.xml
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Error reading XML.
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Warning: file EQLSUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\default\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Couldn't open or read UIFiles\default\EQLSUI.xml
[Sat Jan 17 13:40:51 2015] Error reading XML.

the error message looks like it's missing an EQLSUI.xml file from the UIfiles/default folder. any ideas?

EDIT - Hooray! found my fix if you have this same issue. its just an issue with the actual UIfiles/default folder itself. you can download a new one by going to this link http://www.project1999.com/forums/member.php?u=4346, the user Savok has a link in his sig for "Default UI Changes" for the proper UIfiles/default folder. from there it's just a drag and drop to replace! works like a charm now

Having an issue with character models and the sky box not loading. Updated the wine engine and wrapper but no fix. Maybe it's an issue with the eqclient.ini, but trying each fix in this thread has done nothing. Used Innova's eqclient.ini text, and it did nothing. Even deleting the eqclient file completely had no effect, it started up fine, but no models/sky. Not sure if i'm the only one with this issue. Here's my specs:

Late 2009 iMac
Ati Card
Mavericks

You can see the missing corpses and all that.

Macbook Pro 17in Late 2011
Yosemite 10.10.1

6770M graphics & 2,4GHz i7

Works like a charm, but I had to setup my own Wrapper.

Trying to get everything running through wineskin . . got through everything and when i open EQ, it has a mostly - black screen with some pink at the top. EULA is in white text which is surrounded in pink. i have read about this problem before, but haven't found a solution that works for me.

I have successfully played p1999 thru bootcamp, but i dropped my mac a while ago and now windows won't boot up. I tried to copy the file from my windows drive to mac drive, and it won't let me . . error code 36 or something.

Maybe someone could send me their wineskin with proper folders/files already inside of it? idk if that works. i know something is off, i can't find it though ..

i'll pl you if u get it working [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

====edit====

Finally got into game, but all i see is black screen and pixels, with names like "soandso's corpse" and whatnot. so i'm in game, just have no graphics. chatbox and other ui pieces work fine
