I had a lot of fun in p99! I loved playing a bard, making videos of our exploits, and getting to know so many folks. Regular quakes coming to an end and the competition around rooted mobs really took the wind out of my sails when it came to the fun I had in playing the game. There are still little fun things like making plate house groups in Kael or farming drops in ToV East wing (I’m blanking on the name) but that wasn’t enough to sustain me.
I think the real killer is the elf politics. People all hate it but can’t seem to live without it. I think the best thing about the blue (beta server) was that it really did have more of a hands off, competition encouraged feel to it. There was always places like TAKP or other emulators than had instances and allowed boxing and such but this place was different. I haven’t played in a while but when they changed the meta to require NTOV to be cleared (which took hours of time, especially playing chicken on who can do a dragon + however many guards) it just wasn’t fun anymore. Hope my elf pals are all still doing well!
