Still waiting for a MAGA chud to defend Trump's actions in Syria as anything but craven betrayal of one of our most effective and loyal allies in the last 2 decades. It's not even about 'Get us out of foreign wars', considering that it has destabilized the region, we've dispatched troops to Saud preparing for the showdown with Iran, and is fomenting a genocide/handing the region to the Russia-Iran-Syria axis on a silver, oil pipeline plated platter.

I don't know, neither you nor I am qualified to make that decision. I haven't really read up on it lately. Trump cites his reason as "They have a problem with Turkey. They have a problem at a border. It's not our border. We shouldn't be losing lives over it."
The U.S. military posture in the Middle East has always been predicated on deterrence, not defense. But deterrence has taken a huge hit because of the string of presumably Iranian attacks leading to the one on Abqaiq last month. So the million-dollar question that U.S. Central Command is wrestling with is how the United States can restore deterrence in the Middle East.
There is too much that policy between nations that neither of us have any idea about. Funding, trade deals, etc. I highly doubt Trump sitting in his chair and single handed decided to pull out. It came on recommendation by an official. The official reviewed policy, finances, projections and came to a decision. Not saying it's the right one but I'd say ABC news, you and me don't know better.
