it is the same as its ever been. the ancient greek thinkers from 2000+ years ago had these same thoughts about the cult of personality and demagoguery and people who wish to take advantage of the fact that we are all dumb ass primates and were not as smart as we think we are.

Well you know what happened to Greece? It collapsed, half the worlds population died, and writing disappeared for centuries during the “Greek Dark Ages.”

What happens when Greece is armed with nukes and it collapses?

My science teacher blew my mind as a kid with this awesome video called Greece: How we could have lived among the stars.

And it was about how if Greece never collapsed, we'd be living on different planets right now [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Unfortunately children watching live streamers is not the same as children watching Looney Tunes and the munsters.

Creativity is dead.

Long live advanced sciences brought to us through AI

I've definitely had this thought too. I think the world's the same in the manner of... there are always renaissances and dark times, and it seems I was lucky enough to grow up at the tail end of a renaissance.

Oh man i love that one!

I actually read it as a short story in a like anthology book of his, but later picked up the novel he aadded to that story with and enjoyed it too.

It's a cool idea.

I like how if you pick two random dinosaur dig sites from different parts of the world, they’re almost always separated by a time span so massive that entire human history would fit between them.

So like, we totally could have made it to the bronze age at least a few times IMO.

Can you imagine how bummed the people 1000 years from now are goanna be if we reset the timeline like the greeks

"we could be in the 4th dimension and immortal gods by now if everyone didn't try to larp the book of revelations back in the early 2000's"

With Israel Withdrawal, Hamas Finally Able To Conduct Public Executions In Peace

Quote:
"Like slipping into a comfortable pair of old shoes," said spokesterrorist Amal Qadir. "It's been a long time since we were able to enjoy our normal daily activities, but thanks to Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, we can settle back into publicly executing people who refuse to comply with our demands. It's nice."

Though the ceasefire was still in its early stages, the mutual release of hostages and Israel's willingness to pull back from the war front have given Hamas at least some semblance of having their lives go back to normal. "It's refreshing to get a little taste of the way things used to be before the war," Qadir continued. "Just this morning, we got up, went for a brisk morning walk, and lined up a few insolent rebels and shot them in the head before sitting down for breakfast. It's wonderful to have peace."
