Alec immediately trying to shift blame to who handed him a "hot gun". Alec, you don't point a gun at somebody and pull the trigger, unless you are 1000% certain it is safe to do so. Are you 12 years old? This is basic firearm safety. It doesn't matter if you think it's a prop, all it takes is one simple mistake to end a life when a gun is involved.

Also he's a smug prick and I hope he goes to prison.

Actors have nothing to worry about but their acting on set.

you would have to first, have very public meltdowns in many other threads for a few years, before you are granted your own meltdown thread.

start collecting the issues that you are oppressed over and depressed b/c of.

you can't use Japanese, im Korean, I got you beat there.

also, my condolences to the families of the victims of Alec Baldwin.

I'm a licensed firearm owner. I take yearly refresher courses (free at my club)

I've heard this argument all day, I have one word for all of you: Bullshit.

Actors fire "prop guns" at people all day long, and we pay them good money for them to do it. Prop guns are glorified "cap guns" that we played with as kids.

"Prop guns" do not have the ability to fire projectile cartridges. These do not require the hand off transfer checks that become second nature to responsible gun owners.

If someone hands you a firearm, under ideal conditions, do so muzzle down, breach open, mag-well empty.

If they do not, it is still proper to receive the firearm muzzle down, then checking breach and mag yourself.

As far as prop guns go, like I said, they are not designed to fire projectiles, ever.

So, somehow a projectile firing weapon made it to the set of the film, through the prop department, and into the hands of the actor, ALL WITH A LIVE CARTRIDGE INSIDE IT.

This is 100% the fault of the prop master et al, Alec Baldwin is as much a victim as the people hit by the bullets.

disclaimer: I am not a fan of Alec Baldwin.

People are getting sloppy because this is the collapse. Nothing out of the ordinary.

How'd they make it through 3 John Wick movies without an incident yet an old western film with Alec Baldwin the prop gun kills someone.

And why/how would you ever bring a real bullet onto a movie set? It couldn't have been a real bullet right? It must have been the casing of the blank shrapnel or something.

The Crow wasn't a live cartridge and neither was this.

blank rounds are usually brass cartridges with crimped tops, containing a very different powder blend producing a brighter flash, less sound, and more smoke than an actual bullet cartridge.

the round that was fired went through 1 person and into a 2nd, there's no way that was a piece of shrapnel.

a crime was definitely committed here in that someone knowingly produced a "real gun" to the set of this film. There is the criminal element.
