Yeah because Vexing casts a DoT on the mob and gives you a buff. It doesn't follow the DD rules because it isn't one.

Lightning bolt had a small interrupt component yes, but I don't think it was as much as shock of lightning. It wasn't a stun but had some push to it. Would be interesting to see if that's actually recorded... if not it would make me wonder how some spells handled having a slight interrupt component.

This is just a my 2cp post.

They don't want it to tap. They want it to leech. Either with Vexing or VP Staff (Moar betters). As Potus described above, the first tic of the DoT will kill the target however it puts a buff on the necro which will heal them per tic what the DoT would normal do. Regardless of whether the DoT already killed your target or got dispelled.

Just so long as the Leech line of spells successfully lands on your target, you get that HoT buff on the necro.

Completely agree [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Should hold after zoning or if the primary is dispelled off target. Should also heal for full amount but do the nerfed pvp rate of damage.

No tapping, means no Lich, means no pacting, means no mana transfer.
Also completely agree with this [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Edit: I'll lay off this :P just sayin'.

Yeah, lightning bolt didn't have a stun component until years later:

In all the old spdats, spells like lightning bolt and a cleric's L5 furor have pushback values of 0 (incidentally, live Lucy lists them at 0.25 and 0.5, respectively) whereas other spells that lack evidence of pushing simply have no value.

Lifetaps do their full damage even if the target has only a single hitpoint left.
