First of all you need I believe it's 180 MR to reach 95% root resistance the current cap. For many people that's not even remotely feasible, for others it means sacrificing hp/other resists just for a chance at resisting root. For whatever reason that 5% seems much more likely on first casts here. I don't want to hear about casters being ineffective, wizards have fast cast lure spells, mages have fire nukes and pets, enchanters are great utility / shouldn't be nuking anyway / necros are godly. Yes, Druids take a big hit, sorry Druids who are currently dropping close to 1k wildfires on VP geared melees with the utility of sow / heals / buffs / ports / cheetah.

If you want pvp where every class has an equal chance against another go play wow, which btw I happen to and enjoy, but this is classic eq it's a different experience, and if classic resists aren't to you're liking maybe this game isn't for you. Not all classes are meant to kill all other classes. Casters shouldn't be engaging melees 1v1 in the open. Melees shouldn't be engaging casters leved up high and out of range. Rogues shouldn't be taking on warriors 1v1, enchanters shouldn't be taking melees 1v1 etc etc.

i think my monk could hit 180 MR with best possible gear in the game and forego every other stat/resist

Facts came right from one of the devs saying 5%. Dont remember who but I know its here somewhere.
And Tmoney, lol. Saying this is not a group pvp game. I am clueless? The only solo roam pvpers that were around were lone druids for the most part.


Came from Tmoney himself guys. EQ is not a group game. GTFO if you cant solo.
Also from Tmoney people like me (people who still play the game, don't grief, rarely use root, still does very well) killed the population.

It's a 5% chance of a spell landing regardless of resists. However like I said I'm only missing one piece of resist gear that I'm actually able to get my hands on. And that one piece wouldn't put me at 180 unbuffed.

You didn't need 180 unbuffed on live you only needed I want to say 125ish to become near immune to retarded shit like snare/root spamming.

Can confirm this. On live, there was a Pande twink named Belaggio (never trust someone named after a hotel, lil TZ inside joke for yalls where my TZ folks at). She jumped us at Orc Highway and I remember blowing an entire bar of mana, and our enchanter blowing an entire bar of mana, and landing nothing. She'd run around with 45+ druid buffs, so melees killed themselves hitting her (him obv). Literally was untouchable to a non-twink

She spent about a year at the giant fort in Warslisks too. Was beyond ridiculous how hard it was to kill her, though we did do it with like 15 people a couple of times.
