This PvP server is a house. And in this house lives all the people who play here. Now, everyone in the house has no respect for the roof over their head nor the landlord who charges no rent for the people living there. Since day 1, people have just been smearing shit on everything, breaking all the furniture, making a full effort to get people to move out. Now comes today, and this house is full of broken glass and shit, and a fraction of the people who used to live there. And it sucks, because .. well.. everything has a 2 inch deep layer of shit on it.

Yet here you are, those very people, asking/debating ideas for a new house. A new house that you will go into, shit all over, destroy inside-out. Inside of a thread that the landlord posted to make an attempt to better the house you've ruined.

The tards here 100% hurt server pop, but I think it's a fallacy to assume that changes won't bring back pop, considering there's a good 150 people out there of this tard group who would come back with said changes.

100 people addicted to EverQuest remained. If everything was in place and to spec (aka people with 100+ mr not getting root-decimated), I'd think we'd still be at 385 pop or so.

I actually caught Nizzar powerleveling and gearing up goods in SolB on Sullon Zek. Tenaj was like, that's his cyber girlfriend or something, I dunno what he's doing.

Nah, these people have no idea what they're talking about. As was pointed out, the results would have been cached in database memory anyway, meaning each call would be the equivalent of an mt_rand execution. Databases, especially for reads, are designed to be fast with heavy concurrency. Should have been clear when all I did was talk about real simple primitive operators in relational algebra for a select query, in this case one that only uses a single π projection, and they said I was copying a textbook.

Guards were a problem, but i think biggest problem was (wait for it) xp loss in pvp (surprise! amirite)

Nune is saying people are "jerks" (a lot are) but if you didnt have xp loss in pvp, all this "griefing" woulda been "Rumble in the junglin" and i think it woulda been a + for the server, just like pvping in Gfay/Crushbone was the shit to play for hours back on Rallos.

The pop would have held till guards were fixed

Now we finally have a chance to semi-find out if i was right (cuz its not a level playing field with twinked out melees)

No, the community being blah was the main problem. At the start, and even up into the 30s, xp loss from dying in pvp hardly mattered at all. I lost more xp from Holocaust training than I did from all my pvp deaths combined.
