lol, SC has no teacher's union and it's the worst fucking place to be a teacher in the country, second only to other states without unions. We just moved to Washington, where teachers have a union, and my wife more than doubled her pay, along with numerous other nice perks and leverage against abuse from admin. And what do you know, education is orders of magnitude better as well Unions are an issue with both teachers and police but in both cases it's better to have unions than not have unions. It has more to do with professional culture than the presence of a union. Unions are the only leverage an employee has against an employer. | ||
