Since you are ranting about identities, have you considered the irony of Americans, who are (descendants of actual) colonial Europeans who make mad accusations at the Europeans who stayed at home (not colonising) for being colonists?

But, according to the wiki, both groups where white and both owned black slaves.

So the conversation would go more like this...

“Aren’t you ashamed of your colonial past?!”
“Idk mate, aren't you ashamed of owning black slaves? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
