I think the reason a lot of people play P1999 is because we reject the wowification of games.

It wasn't supposed to be all WoW style flashy bright instant knowledge. I think the reason a lot of people play P1999 is because we reject the wowification of games.
I personally disagree. The CON system was used tell me whether or not it was on your side or not. Yes the color was helpful but knowing whether or not you could safely get through the area was the best indicator for me.

I never did like the Luclin graphics, I even tried them out once here and quickly went back to original. For one 2hb weapons were not swinging like 2hb. The animations were all messed up for stuff like that. When a char ran, it felt like they were flopping their feet everywhere. Plus, vendors in NPC only clothes and guards were not working for me. They were stuck in permanent jesus mode.

This is all moot. Like it, don't like it, doesn't matter. Personally, I don't like it, but it's done and there is exactly 0 percent chance that complaining will change anything. The devs made it clear what the goal of p1999 is. They will do what they want to achieve it. If you don't like it, then ultimately you have to either go elsewhere or be quiet. But, if you just feel like you need to argue on the internets, feel free.

I think P99 should automatically close if you have anything faster than 56k internet. That would be classic as fuck dawg. I'll go buy a 56k modem right now so I can classic my ass off. It blows my mind how much people miss the point of what made classic EQ so great. Hint: It wasn't the UI or whether or not con color showed on your target window or graphic fidelity or internet speed or compasses. Seriously you guys understand that right?

Buncha idiots...
But I had a cable modem in 1997. I'm sure it would be slower than shit compared to what I have now (I don't even remember the speed) but it was a fuckton faster than 56k.

I can't argue that EQ would have still been an amazing game had a couple relatively meaningless features been changed? I'm pretty sure I can and I'm pretty sure I did. How is that a flawed argument?

Question for you super smart "classic" lovers. Would EQ have been a better game if there was no health bar on the target window and you had to hit X every time you wanted to see what % of health your target had left in the chat box? How about Z to see your own health % and get rid of the player health bar? Sounds classic as fuck to me. Sure would've made the game a lot "harder" thus "better" right guys? Devs plz implement.
You have become better at grasping at straws (23)

Care to explain why? Seems like 100% rose colored glasses talk to me. If EQ launched with con color on target window and a compass and light blue cons would that have instantly made it a bad game? I think you're being dumb. Those things aren't what made EQ great. Prove me wrong?
Is P99 a "bad game" after this last patch?

Being completely immune to dragon aoe's here with not classic resist values will make the game better?

That Lady Nev spin better land like it was born to land. Fudge whatever numbers you want.

Its done. Completely ruined. Its a sinking ship with the majority of its players venting in ooc about the catastrophe that the devs have brought upon the server. If only they would see the error of their ways this could be reversed. Sadly they are on a white knight crusade to bring unwanted and unwarranted changes that make the game nearly unplayable. Let us have a moment of silence for our fallen server brothers and sisters.

The color con on the target should remain, but there was "lt blue" con before Velious. That should really be changed back.
Light blue was not added to EQ until a month before Luclin released.

End of Velious 11/2001

We have changed the way the /consider command works and expanded the level range at which players are able to gain experience. We have added a 'light blue' area between green and blue. NPCs that used to /consider green but gave experience will now /consider light blue, as well as NPCs of slightly lower level than those greens. You will always get experience for something that is light blue. You will not receive experience for greens. At the same time, by including lower level NPCs in the light blue /consider, we have increased the range of lower level NPCs that will grant experience. This will be most noticeable for characters of higher level.
