No matter what happens, 10 years from now we'll be able to say "That was one hell of a decade"

I miss 1999 so much

Even tho I was a lot dumber then. East commonlands for the first time on a fledgling pvp server changed life forever.

I guess of all the amazing leeps in science and tech tho.

The most amazing is the metaphysical or spiritual leep. When science begins to open that door for normies and neurotypicals it's going to be a massive trip for ppl.

The funniest thing about all this is the conspiracy that the matrix was right, that the 1990s were peak human civilization.

I think throughout the annuls of history, the age where man transitioned from iron to electrode will be remembered fondly, I think we've lived through the (latter) heart of a second renaissance.

And we're about to begin a second dark age.

In terms of the matrix. I think there is argument to be had that it's the ideal human age for a battery.

You could go back to some time in the past, but life expectancy was lower, and the population is less.

During the 1990s there were the most people on the globe during a period of stability. And the most amount of analog distractions.

Any further into the future from there, the more unstable you get until the artificial intelligence is invented.

Even if there is a population boom in the next 20 years and it takes 100 to build the matrix, you don't want your batteries using the tools that could free them from the simulation.

And that's why we might be in the matrix, and after a good long run, it's about to be reset!

Ellison is just one of the latest Fortune 500 CEOs to point out that AI is coming for white-collar workers' jobs. Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, kicked off the hot topic in late May with claims to Axios that AI could eliminate "half of all entry-level white-collar jobs — and spike unemployment to 10-20% in the next one to five years."

My guess AI is going to play out like VR

But I hope he's right.
