There's discussion about a layer of cool air with warm air on top causing refraction. These conditions are common over large bodies of water.
Also at the edge of our visual acuity our brain fails to process images. A telescope may aid in this bringing a blurry masked object into focus. There are many factors involved outside of the simple curvature of space and time. | ||
