non-classic end game raid scene game mechanic change implemented without discussion. The fact that it caters to directly give TMO an advantage is apparently irrelevant...You notice the only people that support the new game mechanic are TMO and everyone else invovled are like what the hell is this non-classic BS when we were discussing FTE shouts as the clear favorite solution.

They said they were implementing a FTE shout system along with weekly or bi-weekly maintenance simulated resets, then all of a sudden this other non-classic game mechanic rears its head that seems to be nothing but catering to a TMO rant about an afk player on a poopsock being awarded FTE.
They said they were thinking of implementing an FTE shout and periodic simulated resets. They never said it was happening.

How does this cater to TMO specifically? Anyone is capable of smashing their keyboard for 4 hours with targeting hotkeys, leaving auto attack on, and spamming instant click items. You make the assumption that TMO uses autofire without any evidence and further wrongly assume that no other guild does even when presented with contradictory evidence.

Except you can set up auto-fire to continuously spam a button, so you can start up autofire and then AFK. Creating /tar Trakanon macros are hard, bro.
You guys will cry about anything.

Programs that parse the log file are fine, as long as they do not do any type of automatic control/response/manipulation/macro on your character in place of manual control.

I'm not commenting on the worthiness of this change, but Alarti's idea that it promotes non-AFK poop socking is silly at best. Autofire can be ran just as well while AFK as not AFK.

I do like that I might see Trakanon before he dishes out his initial AE though.

@Ele: Sounds like autofire is against Server Rules. Hopefully all that use it are punished appropriately. Maybe they can flag/ban for it with the same method they use to flag/ban for MQ.

no one supports afk members getting fte.
no one likes to poopsock.
this mechanic does not solve either one.
people can still afk with autofire going.
people still don't know who has fte during the fight except a gm because no fte shout mechanic
gms have not addressed the 3rd party program autofire issue involved
Fix every single problem or none at all?

This kind of mentality is not progressive and does nothing to help the server. People can use all kinds of ways to cheat I am sure. To assume that we shouldn't fix stupid mechanics based on your tin-hatting is just dumb. BDA Tin-Hat crew out in force. The only evidence we have of auto-fire is dailant---quit and out of TMO, and BDA members.

Only evidence of autofire I see is from BDA...

Instead of having it so anyone can just chill at a raid target and sleep for FTE chances, they now have to run the risk of getting "caught" going turbo.

It's not what I'd consider the best to stop poopsocking (it will probably do nothing to stop people from afking at targets actually), but whatever. They will never do a classic approach and just allow training of raid poopsocks and let the GMs do a hands off thing.

Too much micromanaging of the raid scene by staff, my guess is they enjoy having power...? idk.

Did I say we disagreed? I'm with ya, brother. Let's bring the hammer down starting with this BDA scum!

Setting up /target buttons with an instant click item hot key and spamming them when the mobs are in window is all that's going on. Stop crying about "undetectable third party programs" when you have no damn proof.

Cmon, its a new person getting FTE every single time; even if you could do something like you are saying, only 1 tool out of 100 would actually go through the trouble. And it would become apparent pretty quickly if those 1 or 2 people were consistently on top of the FTE log.
