I'm having a lot of fun in the beta. Very different from the first one, combat is a little weird -- need to have more of it to get a real opinion. Safe zones are somewhat annoying but I found out that you need to get away from them to get some real good fights.

Beta has been a blast, but its easy to enjoy games early on.

I can't say whether it will be worth playing 1-2 months after launch, but for now its been very enjoyable. PvP all the time everywhere and lots of cool stuff to explore. I have lots of beefs with the game like how they added all the freebie items, free loot/cash chests in town, chaos chests everywhere and safe zones, but can't tell yet how well it will work into the grand scheme of things.

What kind of character did you make? I just joined up and made a skirmisher the other day. I ran around a little through the training grounds but didn't play more than a couple minutes.

I played DF when it launched, the game was so unpolished, the PvP sucked and the intial grind was so gay.

Everyone just ran around naked b/c they didn't want to get ganked.

I don't see how their new game will be much better.

Go read about it. They took out the grind for one. I loved Rallos Zek pvp and people were naked because they were scared there too. Gear isn't as important on Darkfall.

The first darkfall was like UO where you could max out all types of skills. It had true freedom. The new version makes it so that you have to stick with a certain class so there is much less grinding. You can max out several skills and be viable in PvP.

Gear, it just isn't that important. You can gear up pretty quickly and replace stuff easily. You gain mass wealth so you can do bigger things than gear up your character, like build cities, etc.

Darkfall1 had the greatest pvp ever. It seems like they're slowing and dumbing it down a little bit with Unholy Wars but it should still be lots of fun. Can't wait until things get ironed out and they release the other roles/classes.
