I quit playing because I was bored. From the onset, I would of defined "winning the server" if i got 6-12 months of competitive pvp out of it with a side of nostalgia. If I winded up recruiting over half of the server, contributing to the server dwindling to a population under 20, I would of considered that a loss. Now, I would consider everyone that has quit a winner.

It can thus be concluded that your personal emotions are conflicting with your ability to tell the truth. Once you separate your emotions from the reality of the situation, I'm sure you and your pals will be able to overcome this defeatist attitude, come to closer grips with reality, and treat whats happened as a learning experience before you again return to the server for kunark.

My goal in EQ was to kill people on the other team as often as possible + protect the territory I considered "mine" (dark zones). At no point did I ever give a shit about "defeating the evil monsters". I in fact positively hated raiding and the only time I ever showed up to raids was if I was there to crash the party. I would farm the bare minimum of gear I needed for pvp, and that was it. My routine when I played this some 10+ years ago was to log on and literally drive the lighties out of the Kunark zones. That is all my guild did. We'd try to take back Karnors Castle on the regular, as KC and DL would have 70+ lightie targets all the time. I spent 95%+ of my playtime pvping. Why else would I play on a red server? It's really just pathetic that these supposed pvp servers always degenerate into who can outzerg eachother for pve raids until one "wins" by proxy of being the fattest. On live there were enough guilds in the mix to prevent this from happening. The FFA ruleset doesn't help and neither does having no cap on guild size.

Classic red EQ was always PvE first PvP second. I know all you "hard asses" want to think otherwise, but its false. The classic red servers were as PvE focused as any blue server, we just had the option to resolve in game desputes like men instead of sitting around for 3 days to "claim" a mob when it popped by agroing it first. Null, and everyone else has told you the same for 10 months. This is not counterstrike with elves and swords. Have you tried WoW battlegrounds? more your style perhaps
