I've had this exact (down to every detail) problem with Cox cable on the east coast.
They always tell me nothing is wrong with my connection ("line/connection quality is excellent" they always say) yet I'm always getting connection problems and pings from 200+ to local servers. They had me buy equipment ($200 on highest quality router they have + a business quality router) and nothing fixes it. They always try to make me pay for the visits, and I tell them I won't pay for something that doesn't fix the problem. I ask them why I have such bad latency, and high pings, and neither the technicians that come out, nor customer service that I call know what that shit is. Its awful. Problems remains unresolved to this day. If its any consolation.

Whats hilarious is the last time they came out, while I was unable to connect to the internet, they still insisted that my connection quality was optimal. I had like 20% PL with pings up to 400, and couldnt connect to google, but everything was working as intended. Then they schedule another appointment where the pro team was supposed to come out and fix it, and they never even showed up. I hate cox and would drop them if there was any other internet in my area.

I have found that there is a large difference between a Comcast in house technician and some of the Comcast contractors. The last time I moved, a Comcast contractor spent 4 hours hooking up my internet. After complaining about the poor connection, we discovered that he had hooked us up to AT&T instead of Comcast.

The contractors almost always suck.
I won't even let them send a contractor to my house any more. In house or gtfo.

Comcast has massive connection issues regularly.
They NEVER tell you they are experiencing issues when you call them and ask. (Those of us capable of troubleshooting and fixing anything from the pole to the computer waste hours trying to find a nonexistent problem when they lie to your face about their downtime.) They just claim it's some imaginary issue on your end. Fuck comcast right in their eyes while they burn in a fire. I hope they all choke on loads of dicks forcefully rammed down their throats by angry horses. | ||
