I saw red with 32 people on it this weekend. If it dies and we already have the hardware in place it may be a fun idea to restart a classic non pvp server. This server would be different than current blue as it has had 3 ish years of bug reports and fixes. Plus they could reproduce the time line exactly as much of the dev work has been done. Kunark is fun and all but Classic is the bees knees. Some people also just get a kick out of starting fresh. I doubt this would happen but the idea is not horrible, and no for me it has nothing to do with the current raid scene.

I would definitely make an alt there just to enjoy the initial surge in low level dungeoning. IDK if I would stick around, though, because I love the current P99.

I would love a fresh start, also. Managed to miss rubicite and manastones here by a couple weeks, just like real classic, plus the whole server was very top heavy before a great many classic fixes were in place.

I'm biased, though, as I'm just returning anyway, I guess.

It would be fun for a month or so, because the new server would have 300+ people on it and they'd be leveling up together from scratch. That'd be fun.

But parts of it wouldn't be fun. You think min/maxers not inviting your paladin/ranger/SK on blue is bad right now? Wait until you are playing any melee (let alone a tank, let alone a hybrid tank) who is wearing tattered leather and wielding a fine steel weapons and see how many groups you'll get. I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to group with any DPS except for necromancers and mages. Screw tanks, man. Cleric+enchanter/shaman/bard+4 pet classes.

And after that first month or so? The server population would drop and/or people would be spread out in level again. You'd have the same situation we have on blue right now except that there would be fewer players, since a lot of people would have stayed on the original blue (except to box on both blues to trade for gear they want on their preferred blue server).

Personally I've never had an issue grouping with anyone, hybrid or not, and I am certain there are other that feel the same way. I never did like it when someone in a group would bitch and moan and refuse to group with a pally/ranger/sk etc.

What happens when P19992's raiding scene is inevitably controlled by the main raiding guild? Make P19993?

Well personally I'm not interested in playing on a second server, but a third would be very appealing and I'd probably roll there.

Might be best to hold out for P19994.

Sounds like a social experiment. Did all live servers turn out the same?

so now we have too many people for blue 1 and should make a blue 2 to help even out the overcrowded blue 1?
