It is. It's the most popular non-korean MMO ever.

Whatever your personal opinion is, it's still a league of its own. Subscription numbers don't lie.

the arena based pvp model is pretty popular. people like fair fights, who would have guessed?

a lot of people hate on the battleground/scenario/instance pvp, i think it's awesome. i leveled almost exclusively in scenarios from 1 to 35 in warhammer online. i still have fond memories of punting dwarves into the lava in tor anroc on my black orc.

i also played on an open pvp server, there was ganking that happened to but it was never that big of a deal. i mainly played on an open pvp server because i thought it was lame that you could stand on the edge of a pvp lake and line dance for protection.

Most of the forum community is full of griefers who have pathetic lifes and this game is their revenge. There are plenty of people actually playing the game, who do not post on the forums and are against griefing.

Wait until this server is 2-3 months old, and the griefers have been driven away by the skilled players who care about their reputation and enjoy a fair fight. On any new server, you have a ton of people who think they can grief all the way to 50 and still enjoy their character. They will all be forced to re-roll or hide, as more and more people reach level 50.

I do agree with you about the newbie areas. They should make them PvP free until level 6. At level 6 you should be out of these zones or at least have a few abilities to allow you to fight back/survive against someone 4 levels higher than you. I want this server to grow, not shrink, and this childish mindset that is going to push away a good chunk of people who enjoy PvP, but do not enjoy griefing.

For those people who post things like "qq moar", etc, you know nothing about PvP and have little to no skill. If you are still around in a couple months when you can no longer grief people and you are forced to make friends to continue playing, I will be very surprised.

Nobody is talking about "most successful". If that were the case, then let's go ahead and sing the praises of FarmVille and The Sims while we're at it.

I still think EQ PvP is light years ahead of WoW for the simple reason that they didn't separate out the PvP into an instanced minigame. You can actually fight over the game's content. What a concept. 8]

wow is an mmo for people who dont like any consequence in their gaming. WoW like milk chocolate compared to EQ which is semi-sweet, or in some cases, 98% CACAO

CACAO!

Looks like something my brother-in-law would draw. Etch, whatever. Totally awesome. Uber compliments to the artist.
