I started late (february), worked my ass off to get the gear i have, and joined an awesome guild that raids. Work for what you get. Stop asking for everything to be handed to you on a silver platter. This is vanilla EQ. As soon as Kunark comes out, and that could be 6+ months from now, everyone will be on the exact same level playing field.

I for one will have 3+ lvl 50 toons ready to go come Kunark release. It's not that hard of a game if you try.

Devs are planning a reset several months down the road, or haven't you heard? It's called Kunark: everyone will be rolling IKS monks and necros and all other characters will be forgotten...

Just to add:

Platinum means little to nothing at level 46-50.

Most of us do not want to journey to 50 again, farm stuff we've already done again etc.

Nah bro whats the point of 50? Lets just make the server cap 49 and if you ever ding to 50 your character auto delevels to 1 again. It's genius! Imagine the good it will do for all the lowbies! With that active of a low level range of characters we can grow this server to a population of 5000+ in no time!
