Wouldn't paladin sk or shaman be lacking in dps?
Kinda why I recommended mage. But, no. All those classes do very well in pvp, and charm is nuts.

Ogre Warrior man.

If you don't want to be evil then do a paladin so you can supplement substandard druid heals. Paladin heals are real powerful especially at lower levels when druid and paladin are both using light healing. + it is the only class where being a good guy (dwarf or if you HAVE To..a human) isn't a serious downgrade from the superior race of Ogre.

Was thinking if I go war, I would go barb for slam and no evil with less of an xp penalty. Paladin would be good but I am just worried the paladin wouldnt put out alot of dps and that would lag us behind leveling up.

Paladin with a 2h isn't any worse than a warrior with a 2h. Dual wield doesn't become a better option until the mid 40s. By then the paladin buffs and rez will more than make up for a little less dps.

Warrior caps are higher but agreed, I don't think it's gonna be a huge difference. Especially with jousting which is what most melees end up doing in pvp.

Throw in unattainable AA's like triple-attack for warriors and the margin widens significantly. Still, I don't know many (if any) warriors who could beat a pally or even sk due to the self-heals they possess. The spread of gear would have to be immense.

Edit: I see what you're saying about the 40's now. ^--- is more end-game 1vs1 style.

Yeah, he was talking about earning xp leveling up. Shouldn't really be a factor until close to the 50s and by then the Paladin has some very strong buffs and heals to make up for the lost DPS.

I still think they would be better off with a pet caster than a melee.

If you want to go melee route go war/sham/cler. Not the fastest killing group, but very potent. Can take out named rares the others would struggle with. Especially at the high end where stuff summons and pets are worthless. Cleric and shaman buffs stacked on the warrior make him a monster, and then you add in the complete heals and awesome HoTs to go with the best defensive tank in the game.

I honestly don't know PvP all that well, but from what I know I would probably avoid playing a pure melee unless I had a large group of friends lined up to play with. SK and Pal are always options, but DPS will definitely be lacking. Honestly, unless you have your heart set on a melee, like other people have said, there are a lot of classes that pair up nicely with druid and enchanter.

If you do decide to go pure melee - I know that everyone makes fun of non-ogre warriors, but DEs do get innate MR if I remember right (like an extra 20 MR or something), and from what little I know about PvP, I've always been under the impression MR tends to be one of the more important stats.

With the classes you have there, I'd probably go mage though. If you're going to be using pets to tank, I've always felt more comfortable knowing that our only tank wasn't a charmed pet.

So war vs monk? I was thinking I would hate to go monk and one day they release tripple attack for warrior.
monks and rogues will always be trumped by an equally geared warrior in kunark era, and even more glaringly so in classic. all that kunark did was close the gap a bit with discs, technically a well played rogue or monk and a shitty warrior will favor the rogue or monk. But the advantage is always in the warriors court - More hitpoints(even after mend on a monk), higher ac/mitigation, hardest hitting 2handers, tripple attack(kunark), equally powerful discs.
