Team FFA is definitely more fun but I don't think we have the population to support this. You still have options like team-oriented guilds only, roleplay/whatever.

I'll play whatever. I do prefer teams as a former team server player as there were some cool things about that. Bigger range for pvp for starters. Forced friendships, situations where a "fellow race" was getting jumped, it was almost duty to help him out. But whatevs, I do like that "rep" means more on a FFA.

I like what you said. I've been pushing this on red99 with some other wood elves or ogres. Just invite to group and kill shit. Eventually yeah, if we fight we fight. Last night a Dorf tried to BS 3 wood elves. We would have taken him out, but the mob we were on was eating us and we wanted to not die. So I invited him and he joined us and we had a good little session. Maybe somebody can make another EMU server for PVP-Teams

Teams are awesome but you need a reasonably high population for this to work. If we somehow manage a steady population of 500ish people then maybe 2 teams would work.

Just make some friends and defend your zone from intruders. Rallos Zek was basically Race Wars for the first year or so.

Dear god the last thing this small community needs is another server to split the already dismal population.

Teams or not won't matter to me, personally I would't mind race teams instead of good and bad races. This would at least provide some teamwork while still allowing mass PvP for the small number of people on the server.

Barbarians
Dark Elves
Dwarves
Erudites
Gnomes
Half-Elves
Halflings
High Elves
Humans
Ogres
Trolls
Wood Elves

12 Teams

OK, OK not Clasic I know -give me a break. Doesn't mean it's not a viable idea.

Rallos was "most populated" but there were two healthy teams servers for years. Maybe Rallos had more people still while Tallon/Vallon were in its prime but it couldn't have been overwhelming or there would have been two Rallos type servers IMO. Rallos' 4 level pvp range was just too small IMO to gain the popularity that it might have been able to get.

With that said, I could care less what pvp ruleset we have, just glad to have the chance to play with some excitement again.

Rallos was more populated?
Log out if you need to afk?
Get a friend to transfer for you?

l2p
Saying 1 server had a bigger population than 2 separate servers is delusional at best.

Its kind of a double edged blade, teams servers dont really work unless theres a 1000+ person population, so you need a ruleset designed to work with less people. Problem is the only other choice is FFA which scares away a huge portion of people on the fence about playing on the server in the first place.
It has nothing to do with "l2p, get better, log when you afk", FFA pvp is just not as fun... simply put Rallos had half the server population than teams servers, the only sect of EQ players smaller than the FFA's were possibly the RP'ers (FV server).
Compounding the fact that gaurds dont even assist people being attacked into this equation what are we left with? a 24/7 gank fest, which people wont take seriously.

Which im sure will be what all the "hardcore RZ'rs" claim pvp servers were, but they werent - at all.
