Question Should I quit Counter-Strike 2 and competitive games in general?

Hello! Back when I was young I would play a lot of Counter-Strike: Source and even a little bit of CS:GO but my computer couldn't handle the latter. In 2020 I got a great PC and I managed to get the Diamond Operation Riptide Coin. Right now my eyes are on the Premier Season 2 Medal. My goal would be to get the full 125 wins required. Currently, I only have 12 wins and the Season 2 ends somewhere end of June. So basically if I get 2 wins everyday I can get that medal somewhere in May.

However recently I started working out at home and going for a run and I just read a book and I REALIZED reading books and working out or going for a run seems to be much MORE FUN to me now that I am 28 years old. The competitive style of CS2 games, to get so many wins makes you lose your mind and it's frustrating. You win 50% of games on average. I am currently slightly above 18.000 CSR rating in Premier Season 2 with 12 wins. In Wingman I have 41 wins and I was Legendary Eagle Master.

I just now played the first game of the day in Premier Season 2 and we won but I didn't really enjoy it. It felt like a struggle and it was frustrating. The pressure is too much. You concentrate so much and the desire to win to get that stupid medal is too big. Should I just quit Counter-Strike 2 and focus my eyes on more casual relaxing games like EverQuest Project 1999? I do not truly know how Project 1999 is but I got a character up to level 8 once and it was quite fun. There's also no time limited event (like the Premier Season 2 Medal).

I'm 28 years old and I just don't have fun anymore being competitive in videogames. It doesn't give me anything but frustration. I only play CS2 for the medal, not for fun. It just isn't fun anymore. I guess I just answered my own question. That being said, I'm sure you will tell me that I should quit all games and only play Project 1999 because it's the best MMO (and game) ever made. Right? I never felt frustrated in Project 1999 so far but I have only played little. Okay that's it then. I quit Counter-Strike. Game's not for me anymore. It steals all your time and sanity. I am sure many people in CS2 play just for the medals as well. Because if they played for fun they wouldn't play Premier or FACEIT because community servers or casual games are easier and more fun, for me at least.

When Premier Season 2 ends there will be Season 3 and again I will force and torture myself to get 2 wins everyday. It's a waste of time. I am a good CS2 player, not on pro level, but it's getting me nothing except a fancy looking medal on my profile that shows I wasted my life, put so much effort into this stupid medal. I am tired of it and competitive games in general. MMOs like this one are better where you just level your own character, focus on yourself and only play when you really want to, not for a time limited reward.

Out of curiosity, do you guys ONLY play Project 1999 (or Quarm) and no other games? Do you recommend it? Should I do it as well? Because I just realized Counter-Strike 2, reading books, and taking care of your body DO NOT mix well. No wonder no CS2 pros look any good in their physique it's all trash. I would rather workout, go for a run, and read books than play any games at all, except if it doesn't force me to play (because no time limited rewards). A game I can play when I want to and am not forced to grind for some stupid time limited reward. I am done with those games.

What's your take on this?
