Im running a INTEL Core I7 - 6700k @ 4.0 GHz and have been for nearly 8 years (coming this fall it would be 8 years on this system setup.). memory is DDR4 - 32GBs - 3000MHz which hasn't changed in nearly 8 years, the graphics card is the same one Ive been using for 4ish years, hard drive is the same, same internet company and speed. Nothing has changed. I can log into Grand Creation Server and serval others just not P99 ones. very odd.
There must be more than one way to cause the same error, so the fix for most of us in this thread won't apply to you. Do you know if there's a tool for p99 users to do a scan of files to verify they have the same file hash as what the servers expect us to have? If not I'd recommend a fresh install to a different folder and patching it with the files from the p99 setup instructions to see if that fixes a file corruption problem.

I've got a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, core ratio is set to 34 and locked, I don't think it's changeable on this CPU or motherboard (Gigabyte B450 Aorus M). I've disabled all the game boost and auto boost properties I could find for my motherboard and 19 times out of 20 that I try to launch P1999 I wind up with the error 1017 pop-up.

Any ideas on how to fix it on this CPU? It seems totally random, sometimes it'll work, but 95% of the time I get the error 1017 and it'll never work until I reboot. If p1999 launches on the first shot, it's fine, but I've never gotten it to work once I see that error.

Just upgraded my CPU/mobo/RAM from a rather old 3570k to a 7700X, Gigabyte Aurous 650M, and the same RAM kit as you. I however did not reinstall windows nor EQ, so same previously working p99 install. Now I am getting precisely the same problem as you.

Tried the CPU affinity fix, and tried underclocking both RAM and CPU with no luck on either so far :/

Small nuance in my error though. I launch p99, log in, select server, press play . . . and then it kicks me back to the log in screen. However only if I try to do this again at this point do I get the 1017 error.

Edit: I was able to get this to work by underclocking to 3.8 ghz **IN BIOS**, not Ryzen Master software. Got the idea from https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=326354
When you underclocked your CPU down, did you also change your voltage? If so, what did you start at and end at with both CPU and volt?

Confirmed setting CPU clock to 3.8GHz works. Ryzen 7 with built in GPU - that's what I use for video card, Tuf gaming MB and windows 11. Tested working on blue.
