I’ll play a little devil’s advocate because I used to think this as well. I think the offended people know they can use ignore but it’s not only about censorship, they want punishment. A ban is punishment

It's a balance and intent, along with the reinforcement of the staff. While I don't agree in whole with how naming policies are here in changing harmless or silly things, yeah if someone is named Bodybaggs Forotherraces (an example of a name I've seen back when I fucked around other EQEMU servers), I'm gonna think yeah....that warrants it.

You can be offended at anything you want, report it all you want, but if it's a stretch or silly people are gonna mock it or ignore it. If that happens often, maybe do some self reflection, same if all your edgy names keep getting changed.
