Its just for that vanila to velious progression experience, which has an end. If you're in it for the end game then blue is your destination.

I wonder what it would be like to have 3 total servers. 1 vanilla locked, 1 kunark locked, and 1 velious locked. You can take a 1 way trip to the forward expansions but you can't go back.
