Necros get gather shadows at level 16, unless I'm mistaken.

Druid would probably expect a necro to take care of his own invis. Gather shadows should always be up on your spell bar as a necro whenever you are traveling. Necro is one of the earliest classes in the game to get invis, for reasons just like this encounter. The necro motto is if you aren't invis you are FD, and if you aren't FD it's fight time. Sooner you learn it, the better.

Was killed 2 times in OOT as necro 17 or 18 trying to get on boat, (coming off the boat, there was no NPC so i didn't know there was a danger to me). First I got killed, just passing by on the ramp, second kill happened after I waited next boat round and I tried to get on a boat farther away, but NPC still aggro-ed me. Then I bought Inwis spell from someone and finally made it onto the boat. Then someone told me to check if I have Gathering Shadows in my spell book. Sure I had it. Brutal game for clumsy players lol
