Aftermath sounds way too nerdy. The word math should never be used in a guild name, under any conditions.

I thought they named it <Aftermath> because it formed in the aftermath of the Awakening of the Sleeper on Blue. Same with <Awakening>. No? I wasn't playing here at the time.

When Forsaken and Asgard were about to merge in 1-2 months following the sleeper being woken up, both guilds held internal polls with the same list of options. There were tons of names and there weren't many good options actually. Aftermath won the poll in both guilds so that was the name. There was never really any reasoning behind Aftermath being one of the options, but I'm sure many of us felt the sleeper being woken did make it kind of a fitting name. I was always a proponent for 2+ word names so for sure agree with OP. Riot sucks too.

Awakened was definitely a play on the fact that that the Awakened member base (Rampage+Taken merge) were responsible for the sleeper awakening which had happened a few months prior, however the reality is that all of Rampage and only a small group of keyed Taken members woke the sleeper up. Most of Rampage didn't join Awakened (either retired, went casual, or joined Rustle) so the argument can be made the the name Awakened is Taken members stealing Rampage's valor. Awakened was like 90%+ Taken when it formed.

It was more a fuck you to your guild than it was stealing valor. You are correct in saying that most of Rampage didn't join Awakened but it was way less lopsided than 90%/10% you are claiming here. Stop spewing shit you don't know about.
