Honestly cant stop thinking about it, in my spare time im not playing anything atm, thinking about green and gettin hyped on a fresh classic experience but as soon as i realize that i will be farming pixels for nothing its like...meh. Does blue have any kind of pvp action in the sort of tournaments or something like that? maybe that could do it for me

Yeah its hard to be motivated. The fresh green situation is super fun and classic era is the best, but I just can't help but not give a shit about gear at all on blue server because PVE is not hard and I don't need to brag about pixels.
Pixels are fun when they make your character able to play with different strategies and survive differently. Or whatever. PVP just spices it up. Sux this server had such a rough life.

Another mistake was letting people grief the fuck out of casuals when server started out until server went from 600 to roughly 200 after a few months. People like me tried to scream for months to remove xp loss but what the fuck did we peasants know. It made the worst people kings of the server by default because nobody wanted to even try to challenge them. By the time xp loss was cut, server was already railed for failure by lack of pop and gear gap.

Its rich that someone that played a shaman, and abused a broken spawn, still thought the xp was too hard. The insignificant xp loss on pvp death reduced mindless bind zerg rushing. Some people just can't handle classic xp I guess.

I could handle it, i leveled to 60. Through all the grief gank trains. Its all the casuals that quit before they could get a foot in and enjoy themselves. The xp loss was massive, to the point where, like i said, nobody wanted to even try challenging Nihilum in Fear, not even one go. I wanted to do it at least a couple of times, for fun. I cant remember which crew i was with at the time but everyone was basically "why try, theres only xp loss in it for us". And i can understand why. I can remember one time me Andis and a couple of guys tried it. It doesnt matter if thats how you maintain your fragile male ego that you think youre a real man for pvping through xp loss (im guessing you were on the easy train either on holo at the start or nihilum after, whichever side was dominating atm) the fact is thats how the server was depopulated and it never really recovered. It was a totally different vibe from Rallos, which had constant pvp in the newb zones, newbs chasing twinks for a chance at a piece of gear and what made it fun.

+1. completely agree with this dude. Eq pvp is a tool, in a heavy itemized game pvp is a tool to fight over long ass camps, good exp spots, plat farming spots etc. if u cant compete somewhere u got tons of content to keep grinding and compete in the future. PvP in eq is not meant to compete arena wise etc. Death in eq already means something, so being able to kill other PCs is enough for what i mentioned before, thou item loot and exp loss just adds as griefing tools. U a pvper or a griefer? we all know theres both choices

The main reason I prefer red is none of the absurd camping.
There really should be an alternative rule-set. Like trading kills on a camped mob. But hogging a mob all to oneself for long periods of time is ridiculous. PvP shenanigans are great as well and I'm actually fine with no item loss, just gold.
