The only reason why guilds woke the sleeper in the past was to get a gear leg-up on competitors. Mostly for a head start into SOL. Thats not the case now. Though I would say that if there was ever a place where I'd like an exception to be made from Classic EQ it would be with this Sleeper Event cock block mechanism. Id be game for a serious penalty, like dragons don't spawn for several months but permanently was never a good idea.

well considering the Classic content basically ENDS with the Sleeper being awakened, the devs have 5 potential options:

1. Just leave at it (thought it will get boring after a while)

2. Develop new custom content beyond this point

3. Make Sleeper killable

4. Do not have Sleeper Awakened trigger

5. Have a continues Gm event, where Sleeper starts to roam around the world killing everything in sight - both players and npcs.
Any ncp killed by a Sleeper will no longer respawn, and any player killed by the Sleeper is deleted from the server... Now that will be the END OF THE WORLD [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I never got to see the sleeper event happen on live so I personally will definitely be pulling for his release pretty much asap. Provided I'm still playing p99 at that time of course. Seems like one of those iconic moments that this server is all about, no?

I remember everyone on the combine server gathering outside ST in Eastern Wastes when we were getting ready to wake the sleeper. Everyone was ready to see him rampaging around slaughtering all the mobs and other dragons.




And then the script bugged out. He never made it outside ST.
